In the Composite family, a disc floret is a small, slender, rayless flower located within the central portion of a radiate or discoid flower head. Disc florets are not found in ligulate heads. The unfused, upper portions of the corolla are called lobes. Disc florets are commonly bisexual, but in some species they may be unisexual (staminate) or sterile. | aa |
